Pro Tan
Horrible Tanning Salon
“I purchased a month membership to Pro Tan because it is in a convenient location for me. The sales girl was really nice and I could always get a bed with no problem. However I was informed on my second visit by the sales girl that the owner Kim did not have her retail license at the time, so I could not buy any lotions. The owner was allowing people to use her own lotions for free. I thought this was nice, and I understood that sometimes things happen and it could take a few days for a license to be renewed. On my third visit the owner was there. She was very pushy and rude. She still had not gotten her retail license, but tried to sell me over priced lotions under the table. She said if you buy two visits to one of her high priced beds for thirty dollars a visit (an extra $60.00!) then you get this lotion for free! Keep in mind that I already had paid $50.00 for a month's membership, and she was doing this deal for all brands of lotions even the cheaper brands. They were definitely not worth 60.00! She also sold sample lotions under the table with no retail license charging you as if you had just bought one bed visit. Telling me that I should be happy she was doing this so no one had to pay taxes. She also has a boutique in her shop with over priced clothes and purses that she sold under the table. Some of the clothes look to have been already used! For all but the last week of my membership she did NOT have her retail license, but continued to push lotions and merchandise under the table. Unlike most tanning salons she does NOT provide eye wear for her customers, but tells customers that it is the law to wear it, and then makes you pay 3.00 for it! Many of her beds had blown bulbs! When I finally told her that I was NOT going to buy lotion from her, and I was going to buy it online she told me that I was stupid for doing this because they were going to water it down, and she was not going to allow any outside lotion in her business. I am going to report her to everyone I can. I am going to make sure she gets busted for selling under the table. Also, she advertises that she has a hair stylist, but I was told the stylist left to work for Ulta! Never once did I see any kind of massage or spa type treatments! I am very upset about my experience there and I feel that I wasted my money. ” -

Ultratan “I've heard really bad things about UltraTan. My friend tanned there for two weeks and never got tan. They sold her a $40 bottle of lotion and that didn't even help. Glad I never went there!”
